More About Me:
Graduate of THE William James College, named for America's first psychologist and premier philosopher. William and brother Henry were the James Gang that finished the 1800's, and shouldn't be confused with Frank and Jesse, or Joe Walsh.
Parents provided art and music exposure, and made sure I spent plenty of time outdoors. Not the best public school student because of poor memorization skills, I succeeded only on strengths of synthesis and composition. These abilities were better nurtured at WJC, which may explain why it was killed off by local Calvinist Conservatives.
Bounced around Allegan County as elementary aide, consultant for gifted students, summer program coordinator, and computer technician. Only spent one semester in area of training – language arts and social studies – in 27 years. Laid off then by millage failure, and again when the Tech Center's new director, a former sheriff, scared away those alternative students to whom we were intended to provide guidance and training.
Narrow policies of education, as now seen in China with its schemes of memorization and exultation of grade achievement, breed populations limited in creative thinking. America, a former bastion of creativity, is currently working to narrow itself with focus on standardized testing for students and teachers.
May the classroom of brick edifice and imprisoned students soon die!
I am currently a part-time plumbing salesperson where I continue to learn with my guests' assistance.
